Kia Soul: Baa, Be a Sheep

This ad was found in a comic book.  They also have another ad in the same vein without the second page featuring black chess pawns and also appearing in comic books.  I’ve encountered this one more often, though.

The text reads:

I understand that this ad is supposed to suggest that a Kia Soul will set you apart from the crowd, but when I saw it the first thing I thought was “so if I buy this car, I’ll be a sheep?”  And really, why would I want to be a sheep?  Being a sheep is rarely considered a good thing.  The chess pawn version had about the same effect, since “being a pawn” is just about as appealing as “being a sheep”.  This may be a great car, but I really think that maybe the ads aren’t getting across the message they want them to.
